APRIL MyHEALTH UAE: a UAE-specific plan explained
MyHEALTH UAE is APRIL's local product for people living in the United Arab Emirates, with three hospital tiers and separate Dubai and Abu Dhabi schedules. IPMIEMEA explains the modules and why this plan is for UAE residents rather than the wider Gulf or Europe.
- Outpatient is included at full cover on every tier, subject to terms, which is unusual among international plans.
- Maternity Boost limits differ by emirate and rise with the tier, so read the figure for your emirate and tier.
- Dubai and Abu Dhabi schedules differ beyond maternity; dental and optical treatment is optional in Abu Dhabi.
- Area of cover is worldwide or worldwide excluding the USA, so trips home to Europe are covered within the terms.
- Evacuation and repatriation is covered up to US$1,000,000 on all three tiers, with MedNet direct billing in the GCC.
The plan matrix: three tiers and their modules
MyHEALTH UAE is a modular international private medical insurance (IPMI) product built for the United Arab Emirates. It is underwritten by HAYAH Insurance Company P.J.S.C., with APRIL Hong Kong Limited as administrator and designer. It is a different product from APRIL's MyHealth International plan, and this page covers the UAE product only.
| Module | Essential | Extensive | Elite |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hospital and surgery annual limit | US$1,000,000 | US$2,500,000 | US$5,000,000 |
| Outpatient | Included at full cover, subject to terms | Included at full cover, subject to terms | Included at full cover, subject to terms |
| Maternity Boost | Dubai US$4,000 · Abu Dhabi US$6,750 | Dubai US$6,000 · Abu Dhabi US$8,750 | Dubai US$8,000 · Abu Dhabi US$10,750 |
| Evacuation and repatriation | Up to US$1,000,000 | Up to US$1,000,000 | Up to US$1,000,000 |
The tier you choose sets the hospital and surgery limit. Outpatient is included on every tier at full cover, subject to the policy terms, which is unusual among international plans, where outpatient is more often an optional module. The area of cover is worldwide or worldwide excluding the USA.
How to read the Maternity Boost row
Maternity Boost is the one module where the emirate changes the number. The published limits differ between Dubai and Abu Dhabi at every tier, and they rise with the tier. So a family in Abu Dhabi on Essential and a family in Dubai on Elite are reading different figures, even though the plan name is the same. Treat the figure for your emirate and tier as the one that applies, and confirm it in the schedule issued with the quote.

Networks, claims and application
- APRIL publishes access to the MedNet direct-billing network of 3,200 GCC facilities and more than 12,500 facilities in Asia, plus cashless hospital access worldwide. These are APRIL's current published figures, not an independent count.
- Digital claims and claim tracking are available.
- 24/7 TeleHEALTH and a Second Medical Opinion service are included.
- Applicants complete personal details and a medical questionnaire before acceptance, so the terms offered after that review are what matter if you have any medical history. Our guide to pre-existing conditions explains how to read them.
Where this plan fits in the Gulf and Europe
This is a local product, and IPMIEMEA lists it for one country only. If you live in the United Arab Emirates, MyHEALTH UAE is designed around the rules of your emirate, which is why it carries separate Dubai and Abu Dhabi schedules and refers to local minimum-cover requirements. If you live in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain or anywhere in Europe, this is not the APRIL plan to read; look at MyHealth International instead.
The UAE generally requires residents to hold a locally compliant health policy, usually arranged by the employer, and the requirement is set at emirate level. A plan that is built to those schedules, as MyHEALTH UAE is, can serve as the compliant policy itself rather than as a top-up, but the emirate rules change and the correct answer depends on your visa, employer and emirate. Check the current position with your employer or the emirate's health authority, and read our guide to mandatory Gulf health insurance and top-up cover.
Because both area options include Europe, a UAE resident who travels home to the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain or Portugal is covered there within the policy terms. Limits are published in US dollars.
Who MyHEALTH UAE suits
A natural fit for UAE nationals, permanent residents and foreigners living in the UAE who want a plan written to their emirate's schedule, with outpatient included at every tier, a choice of three hospital limits, worldwide or worldwide-excluding-USA cover, and direct billing through the MedNet network. Families should compare the Maternity Boost figures for their emirate and tier before choosing.
Compare alternatives if you expect to leave the UAE for another country within the policy term, since an international plan that is not emirate-specific may travel more easily, or if you want to see how the same cover prices against the wider market.
